Toro kingdom Prime Minister Bernard Tungakwo has this Tuesday escaped from a motor accident unhurt.

He said their car veered off the road and hit a tree as they entered Mubende district at around 8:30am.

‘We were four in the vehicle, but we have no problem at all. It (accident) wasn’t too much, Tungakwo told New Vision over the phone.

He said he was being driven with two other passengers (family members) to Fort Portal.

‘I had been in Kampala meeting Ministry of Health officials over the (COVID-19) vaccination drive in the kingdom over the weekend, he said.

He said they were now driving back to Kampala.

Charles Mwanguhya, the kingdom spokesman, had earlier tweeted that the other passengers escaped with minor injuries but had been attended to.

‘The kingdom has a lot of activities coming up this weekend. The prime minister was going to prepare for those activities when for some reason they got off the road and hit a tree, Mwanguhya told New Vision when contacted.
