In a shocking turn of events, two individuals were found murdered at Dave Hotel and Suites in Mbubi Zone, Lungujja Parish, Kampala. On February 7, 2026, the bodies of hotel manager Asasira Shivani, 30, and security guard Musinguzi Lawrence, 27, were discovered in separate rooms with stab wounds. The murders appear to be linked to a robbery, with the assailants reportedly making off with the hotel’s white Toyota Harrier, which was later found missing.

The Discovery of the Bodies

The grim discovery was made after the hotel owner received a troubling phone call from Shivani at around 10:00 a.m., reporting that she could not locate the security guard, Musinguzi, whose phone was switched off. By 11:30 a.m., when the owner attempted to call back, both phones remained unanswered. Concerned, the owner arrived at the hotel by 3:00 p.m. and found the two victims dead in their respective rooms. Preliminary investigations reveal that both had suffered multiple stab wounds, leading police to believe the incident was part of a violent robbery.

Details of the Robbery and Murder

Police found the hotel’s vehicle, a white Toyota Harrier (registration UBH 633M), missing, raising suspicions that the killers may have used the car as their getaway vehicle. The authorities have sent the bodies to Mulago National Referral Hospital for postmortem examinations, and investigations are underway to determine the motives and identify the assailants.

Ongoing Investigation

Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, SP Rachel Kawala, confirmed that efforts are ongoing to find the culprits. The police have urged the public to come forward with any information that could help in solving the case. This double murder and robbery have shaken the Lungujja community, raising serious questions about security at local businesses and hotels.

Public Reaction

The tragic incident has sent ripples through the local community, with residents expressing shock and disbelief. Many have raised concerns about the safety of workers in the hospitality sector, particularly given the rising incidents of violent crime in Kampala. The authorities are expected to increase patrols and tighten security in the area as the investigation unfolds.
