Ugandan musician Ronald Mayinja has released a new track titled “Ham Kiggundu”. The song praises businessman Hamis Kiggundu, widely known as Ham, for his business success and vision.

The single premiered on Block FM 103.2 after being submitted by the Ham Group of Companies. Its lyrics highlight Kiggundu’s life story, focusing on his Nakivubo Stadium redevelopment project, which has reshaped Kampala’s entertainment and sports scene.

According to the song, the work at Nakivubo has been “transformative.” It has given the stadium a new identity and opened opportunities for athletes and artists. The modern facility has drawn attention from both local and international communities.

Kiggundu was born in 1984 in Kalungu, Masaka District. He is the son of property investor Haruna Ssegawa. After completing school at Kabojja International, he studied law at Makerere University. Today, he leads the Ham Group of Companies and has authored two books: Success and Failure Based on Reason and Reality and Reason as the World Masterpiece.

In May 2025, he was ranked among Uganda’s wealthiest men with a net worth of $601.9 million. His ventures span real estate, publishing, and sports development, making him one of the country’s most influential entrepreneurs.

The launch of the Ham Kiggundu song also sparked debate within the music sector. Block FM owner Nyanzi Martin Luther urged stronger copyright laws to safeguard musicians. Meanwhile, Eddy Kenzo, president of the Uganda National Musicians Federation, stressed the need for fair pay and recognition for artists.

Mayinja’s work is more than praise. It reflects a growing link between entrepreneurs and artists in Uganda. These collaborations are shaping culture while highlighting leadership and success.

The premiere of “Ham Kiggundu” stands as a cultural milestone. It blends business, music, and national pride, showing how art can celebrate visionary leadership. The song cements Hamis Kiggundu’s place not only in business but also in Uganda’s cultural story.
