With the Grand Theft Auto 6 release date set for May 2026, gamers have a new question — what will the GTA 6 price be? In 2025, $80 has become the standard for AAA games, so fans are eager to know. Take-Two Interactive, parent company of Rockstar Games, says the answer will come later.

“That announcement will come from Rockstar in due time,” CEO and chairman Strauss Zelnick told Variety before the latest earnings report. He added, “Our goal is to deliver more value than what we charge. The industry usually launches at a premium price, often with special editions, and lowers it later to reach more players. We focus on making sure the game is worth the price.”

Take-Two posted stronger-than-expected results for April 1–June 30. Growth came from NBA 2K25, GTA Online, and mobile titles. The company expects more strong results from Friday’s launch of Mafia: The Old Country, plus upcoming releases of Borderlands 4 and NBA 2K26.

Analysts had predicted a 72-cent loss per share on $1.32 billion in revenue, according to LSEG data. Instead, Take-Two reported a GAAP loss per share of just 7 cents ($11.9 million) on $1.42 billion in net bookings and $1.5 billion in GAAP revenue.

Earlier, Take-Two forecast net bookings between $1.25 billion and $1.3 billion, with a GAAP loss per share between 78 cents and 65 cents. Stronger performance has now pushed the fiscal 2026 forecast higher, to $6.05–$6.15 billion in net bookings. The company expects a GAAP net loss between $442 million and $377 million, or $2.40 to $2.05 per share.

For July 1–Sept. 30, Take-Two projects net bookings between $1.7 billion and $1.75 billion. It expects a GAAP net loss per share between 75 cents and 60 cents, or $136 million to $110 million.
