Sean “Diddy” Combs had no idea that Kanye West recorded their jailhouse conversation, according to a source who spoke to The Post. The leaked call has intensified West’s feud with Kim Kardashian and drawn attention to Diddy’s legal troubles.
The Shade Room shared the video on Instagram, claiming it showed Diddy and West supporting each other while discussing music, family, and freedom. The post encouraged fans to swipe through for the full conversation.
During the call, Diddy thanked West for “taking care of my kids” and admitted no one else had reached out to them. The source clarified that Combs didn’t know West was recording the conversation. They explained that Diddy believed West was simply checking in on his children.
Although prison calls are routinely recorded for internal records, authorities typically don’t release them to the public. The person responsible for leaking the footage remains unknown.
Diddy remains in custody at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn without bail while awaiting trial for sex trafficking and racketeering charges. He has pleaded not guilty to all accusations.
The controversy escalated when West sampled part of the conversation in his unreleased song “Lonely Roads Still Go to Sunshine.” He posted a snippet on X but later deleted it. The situation worsened after West included vocals from his daughter, North West, in the track. Kardashian reportedly opposed this move and attempted to stop its release.
A source close to the situation suggested that Diddy is just caught in the crossfire, claiming the real conflict is between West and Kardashian.
So far, neither Diddy nor West’s representatives have commented on the leaked recording.
