The impressive Hamz Stadium, built by entrepreneur Hamis Kiggundu, has left a lasting impression on CAF inspectors as they prepare for the CHAN and AFCON 2027 tournaments.
Following previous inspections in August 2023 and February 2024, the stadium received praise from the First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports during her February 2024 visit.

Meeting rigorous standards for hosting top-tier football events like CHAN and AFCON, the stadium underwent thorough scrutiny by CAF inspectors who meticulously assessed various aspects including the playing surface quality, modern floodlights, dressing rooms, spectator seating, media facilities, and amenities such as television sets and refreshments.
The inspection also encompassed perimeter areas, parking facilities, washrooms, restaurants, outlets, and access roads. Ham’s careful construction ensured efficient water flow during rainy periods, earning accolades from the inspectors.

With the inspection concluded, Uganda eagerly awaits co-hosting CHAN and AFCON 2027 alongside Kenya and Tanzania, with President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni scheduled to commission the stadium soon.
