A tragic road accident occurred in the early hours of Friday morning in Migeera town, Nakasongola District, involving a California Bus traveling from Arua to Kampala. According to the preliminary findings of the police, the accident resulted in the loss of five lives and left 24 individuals injured.
The accident took place along the Kampala-Gulu highway when the bus with registration number UBB 538K, owned by Califonia Bus Company, collided with two other vehicles. One of the vehicles involved was a broken-down fuso with registration number UBC 209A, facing the Kampala direction. The bus struck the fuso when it was about to enter Migeera trading center, approximately half a kilometer away. Additionally, the bus also collided with another vehicle, an Isuzu D-MAX with registration number UBK 688C. This unfortunate sequence of events resulted in the deaths of four passengers on the bus and injuries to 24 other passengers.
The bodies of the deceased have been taken to Nakasongola Health Centre III mortuary for postmortem examinations. One of the identified victims is Muwanga Alex, a mechanic who was repairing the broken-down fuso at the time of the accident.
