President Yoweri Museveni today flagged off a nationwide team of NRM mobilizers to sensitize communities about government programs aimed at reducing poverty.

At State House Entebbe, Museveni, also the NRM national chairman, praised the group for their energy and loyalty to the party’s vision. He said many Ugandans fail to escape poverty because they lack clear guidance.

The mobilizers, led by Hajat Amina Mukalazi, will focus on four priority sectors: commercial agriculture, manufacturing and artisanship, services, and ICT. Museveni urged them to teach citizens practical ways to benefit from these sectors.

“You are right to mobilize people on how to get out of poverty,” he told the team. He also asked them to expose corruption and fight misuse of public funds.

The President pledged to support the mobilizers’ SACCO, noting that access to credit would improve their own lives while they serve at the grassroots.

The group presented a Memorandum of Understanding, thanking him for leadership that has steered Uganda toward socio-economic growth.

The Museveni flags off NRM mobilizers campaign marks another push by the ruling party to strengthen community awareness and participation in national development.
