UNRA has recently announced that travelers are now permitted to take photographs on the Source of the Nile Bridge in Jinja. This decision comes in response to numerous complaints from travelers who accused the security personnel stationed at the bridge of harassment and extortion whenever they attempted to capture images of the iconic structure.

After receiving these complaints, UNRA took to Twitter and assured the public that photography at the source of the Nile is unrestricted and available to everyone, as long as it does not disrupt the flow of traffic.

The construction of the new bridge, which serves as a replacement for the Owen Falls Dam Bridge, was officially completed in October 2018.
